Textual Analysis

This is a contents page taken from Kerrang magazine, they use more photographs than words to establish what will feature through out. This is an easier way to find what your looking for and also because it doesn't focus on well known artists it shows the genre of the magazine clearly. They have used a quote beneath the title 'contents' from a featured interview, this is a way of attracting the audience to read on especially if it inspires them, makes them laugh or they are fans of the star in this case Tom Gabel. They have also included a piece from the editor of the magazine at the top of the page, this may be used to make the reader feel they are being directly spoken to and given an insite from someone important. The contents are simply set out in a list of categories down the right handside, each section title with a text background colour to make it clearer. The use of the images works well in showing featured artists and also the fact most are the same size with one being much larger shows this may be a much bigger or the main article.
