This page has a very simple layout, the headline 'contents' being in bold and a different font to highlight this is where you find the content you will find in the rest of the magazine. The strip of images on the left hand side breaks up the page and makes it more interesting as you are shown a visual insight into what you wll find in the magazine. It is very clear and easy to use, therefore appealing to many people as they can easily find what they are looking for. It uses four main headings in bold to identify the subject of those pages and then smaller print to show the different aspects of this section. They now use a blue font in contrast to the pink on the front cover, also to show it is a unisex magazine for adolescence.

Textual Analysis

Smaart Talent is the masthead, Talent this is the biggest word on the cover, this is in order to catch peoples eye and to identify the magazine. It also has a different font and is outlined in black to highlight its importance.The image on the cover is a mid close up, used to show facial expression. The use of eye contact creates a more intimate feel but the stern look with the effect of newspapers surrounding the face shows maybe confusion and that you can find answers in this magazine. There's evidence of this on the front cover as it shows headlines of the content, including careers and advice, appealing to the younger generation as they are leading up to important decisions that they maybe need help with. The use of pink text may be used in contrast to the photograph being a male, meaning that it could appeal to both sexes. The use of the image being of MC Riz and the phrase 'rising star and renaissance man' could help to inspire teenagers to buy the magazine and take advice from a role model who is doing well for himself. It is also a smaller magazine, therefore more portable and convenient.
